The Loring-Restoule Region is a fisherman’s dream with an incredible number of inland lakes, and the iconic Pickerel River System to explore.
If you are looking for lunkers, check out Lake Restoule, it was featured on an episode of the Muskie Hunter TV show and is a Muskie caster & trollers paradise with monster fish caught upwards of 50” in size.
With its tea-stained water and spots with depths of over 90 feet deep, it is also home to great lake trout fishing. Lake Restoule, Stormy Lake, and Clear Lake are all part of Restoule Provincial Park.
The Iconic Wolf-Pickerel Waterway
Port Loring & Loring is where you will find the iconic Wolf-Pickerel River system. With over 40 miles of waterway, this system is beloved by canoeists and fishermen alike.
Back in the logging days, a series of lakes & rivers were dammed at either end to create a lengthy body of water with a variety of habitats. Known for spectacular small & largemouth bass, northern pike, pan fish & walleye/pickerel fishing, with areas such as Wilson Lake & Toad Lake also stocked with Lake trout. The fishing is excellent on both the Pickerel River System and the multitudes of inland lakes. This waterway is also the home of the first walleye restocking program in the province.
This region is an undiscovered gem, and at times you may be the only angler on the waterway. Loring-Restoule is off the grid and rugged as nature intended, most spots in this region lack cell service. If you are searching for unspoiled wilderness, and the home of the largest herd of white-tailed deer in Ontario this is your spot.
