Through the the Argyle Fish Hatchery, pickerel re-stocking has ensured that the beautiful Pickerel River lives up to its name and that anglers from all over the globe will enjoy fishing these waters.
The hatchery’s program is intended to improve and protect pickerel fishing in our area lakes and rivers. The fingerlings are hatched in captivity to increase the survival rate of the young fish, and then each spring thousands of pickerel fingerlings are released into the lakes and rivers at select points.
Find out how it all works: The hatchery is open to the public during the spring spawning period.
